The Jita protest has been scuppered, apparently. According to people in the Help channel, CCP has closed Jita for the duration. I don't know if that's true or whether it's just automatic server balancing, but it looks kinda bad regardless.

reviews of whats its like at CCP by CCP employees,
So much for the happy CCP family.
This one is particulary interesting: Linkage
Quote: Several years now CCP has predicated insane subscriber goals that cannot be met. Naturally this is met with scepticism by the employees but it falls on deaf ears. The result is that the company is suffering because we cannot sustain the development of EVE, DUST and WOD. EVE is not creating enough revenue which means that solutions are sought, solutions that CCP was vehemently against a few years ago.
Well we know what that means now.

Edited by: Sandeman Reserve on 26/06/2011 00:17:21 Got a game-news site on your tweet stream? - Link them the threadnaught. Know a gaming forum that gets a bit of visibility? - Link them to the threadnaught. Got yourself a facebook account and a few followers? - Link them to the threadnaught.
Oh, and open your favourite computer mag and find the editor's email address. Link them to the threadnaught too.
CCP can ignore their own forums, but they can't ignore gamers telling tens of thousands of potential customers what's going on.

Crazy thing is, this could have been full of so much win.
- Make the CQ/WIS optional, with ship-spinning as your other option for those who didn't want it.
- Aurum for vanity items such as clothing or stuff to decorate your quarters with.
- Several Skins for each ship type, maybe charge a couple of dollars each... LOTS of people would have bought those.
- Vanity effects - change the colour of your engine trails - blue plasma glow, etc... a dollar or two each.
- Big glowing neon signs for your POS with your corp logo on them... could charge a bit more for those.
- Batteries to power the big glowing neon signs for your POS... a couple of dollars for a weeks worth, maybe?
... all of which is pretty but non-game-changing stuff, which could have increased revenue without alienating the player-base.

A couple of weeks back, the thought of CCP ruining Eve with P2W would have bugged the hell out of me... I have since discovered Perpetuum Online, so... well, no great loss. Three weeks left on my accounts.
